Hats, Nudes & Immortality tells the story of Henry, a young artist who goes from an overnight sensation to an overnight failure when his highly anticipated art show flops on the heels of his young wife's pregnancy. He spends the next day figuring out how to balance doing what he loves with sustaining life.

Coeurage Theatre Company's original play is inspired by Charles Mee's Self Portrait, and was developed under the guidelines of his (re)making project. Mee asks theatre-makers to "pillage the plays as I have pillaged the structures and contents of the plays of Euripides and Brecht and stuff out of Soap Opera Digest and the evening news and the internet, and build your own, entirely new piece." Lead by Artistic Director Jeremy Lelliott and Dramaturg Eric Czuleger, Coeurage infuses their adaptation with poetry, music, photos from magazines, scenes from movies, and original writing.

Hats, Nudes & Immortality stars Coeurage Theatre Company members Deven Simonson, John Klopping, Rebecca Mason-Wygal, and Ryan Wagner and guest artists Laura Crow, Noah Gillett, and Sara Perry.

Coeurage Theatre Company exists to make impassioned theatre accessible for all audiences through pay-what-you-want admission and fresh, challenging productions.

The ensemble is inspired by an imaginative understanding of Courage: Coeur, French for heart, and Rage, meaning fervor, on fire; together, Coeurage is a heart enflamed with passion, which we bring to each and every production.
